First generation Pony Cars have a special place for Mustang enthusiasts and for 1967 Ford rewarded its loyal customers with a refreshed design that gave the car a more massive, muscular look as competition heated up for the performance car market. This 1967 Mustang GTA was delivered in several configurations, but this Bright Red Fastback bad boy is a true S code which sported the new 390 cubic-inch 6.4L V-8 Engine. With its 4 barrel carburetor and 3-speed C6 transmission it turned a conservative 320 hp, enough to turn heads with muscle car fans. A new aggressive appearance was created by a completely redesigned front end with a larger grill opening, chrome compass grill surrounding the Pony emblem, a higher more styled rear taillight panel and a full rear deck fastback design. Color matched simulated side panel air intakes, hood vents and air scoops inserted into the fastback quarter panels all made this a unique transition year for Mustang styling. The original exterior and interior have been carefully restored to showroom condition. The multi-coat mirror glaze finish on this classic is outstanding. Chrome bumpers, rocker panel and body trim are smooth and high luster. Panel fit and finish is excellent and is the result of a great restoration with attention to detail. Inside are chrome trimmed bucket seats wrapped in high quality black vinyl with chrome décor insets, similarly for the folding rear bench seat. Door panels carry the same treatment along with soft aluminum sport panels and trim. The twin-cove instrument panel features a full set of new performance gauges fronted by the GTA rally steering wheel. The T-bar three speed floor shifter sits on high quality black carpeting completing this nicely restored interior. The engine compartment is accurately detailed to its original condition as is the rest of the car but a new Flowmaster dual exhaust provides just enough presence to catch attention. The GT package includes driving lights integrated into the front grill, chrome rocker panels, side panel rally stripes, Mustang GT gas cap, integrated dual chrome exhaust bells and Mustang 5 spoke alloy wheels. Options include Power front disc brakes and tinted windows. Just over 24,000 GR/GTA models were produced in all body styles, and fewer fastbacks were delivered with the 390 CID engine.
